Inaccurate information regarding Abbott's commitment to the FreeStyle Navigator continuous blood glucose monitoring system has been circulated this afternoon. Following are the facts:

FreeStyle Navigator remains under active FDA review and Abbott continues to anticipate a U.S. launch in early 2008. FreeStyle Navigator has been approved in the EU and commercialization is underway. In addition, Abbott is committed to ongoing research and development activities related to future continuous glucose monitoring devices that have the potential to offer patients with diabetes even greater benefits in the management of their disease.
