BD Discontinues BD™ Pen Mini and BD™ Pen Franklin Lakes, NJ (May 10, 2004)-BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) is announcing today the discontinuation of the BD™ Pen Mini and BD™ Pen, reusable insulin pens, due to the discontinuation of 1.5 ml insulin cartridges recently announced by insulin manufacturers. BD's reusable insulin pens are designed to be used with a 1.5 ml insulin cartridge. BD will continue to make 1.5 ml reusable insulin pens available to consumers through June 30, 2004. For more information about alternative options, healthcare providers and consumers are encouraged to call BD's Consumer Services Help Line at 1-888-BDCARES (1-888-232-2737) toll free Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. EDT.
