Diabetes Research Institute Foundation Seeks Children's Artwork for Kids for Kids Holiday Kard Kampaign
The Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, located at 45 Glen Cove Road in Greenvale, Long Island 11548, announced today that they are seeking artwork from children who have diabetes to use in their 2003 holiday card campaign. Five artworks will be chosen with a grand prize of a $200 gift certificate and four $50 gift certificates to stores in the winners' home town. Their first name and photo will also appear on the back of the card.
The artwork should have a holiday, religious, commercial, wintry or another theme thought up by the child. Children/young adults should be 21 or younger. All entries should be horizontal on nothing larger than an 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet of paper and all colors can be used. The artwork becomes the property of the Foundation and all proceeds will benefit the Diabetes Research Institute--one of the finest diabetes research centers in the world located at the University of Miami Medical Center.
Marie Rizzo, one of the organizers and creators of the event stated, "Our Kids for Kids Holiday Kard Kampaign is a fabulous way for children who have diabetes to help other children, as well as themselves, in search for a cure. Last year was our first year and it was a huge success, we look forward to this year's entries." All entries must be postmarked by Friday, September 5th, 2003.
Entries should be accompanied by the child's name and age; and a guardian or parent's name and address, daytime and evening phone number. For inquiries how to order cards or for further information call the Long Island Regional Office of the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation at 516.621.8804.
