February 24, 2004 -- Disetronic Medical Systems, Inc. introduces the Tender "mini", a new infusion set product that has a soft cannula that is nearly 25 percent shorter than similar available infusion sets. The Tender "mini" is a shorter-cannula version of Disetronic's Tender infusion set. Available exclusively through Disetronic and their independent diabetes products distributors, the Tender "mini" is an ideal infusion set for insulin pump users who need an angled-insertion infusion set.
Tender "mini's" flexible Teflon® cannula is only 13 mm, and provides a more comfortable and natural insertion angle, especially for people with small bodies or those who have minimal subcutaneous tissue. In addition, the viewable window of the Tender "mini" offers users peace of mind because they can easily view their insertion site. A comfortable, hypoallergenic, self- adhesive base helps it stay firmly in place and no insertion device is necessary.
"Insulin pump users, especially users of angled-insertion infusion sets such as MiniMed Silhouette, Animas Comfort and Deltec Essential infusion sets will appreciate the shorter cannula on the new Tender "mini" because it offers them a less intimidating infusion set with a possibly more comfortable insertion angle that will move with their bodies," said John Odegard, product manager, Disetronic Direct.
The Tender "mini" fits all standard luer lock insulin pumps including Medtronic MiniMed 506 -508 series pumps, as well as all Animas and Smiths-Deltec insulin pumps.
Tender "mini" is available in two packaging configurations: a box of 10 complete sets and a box of 10 complete sets and 10 additional cannula heads.
