Features

  • Introducer needle is removed, leaving a soft, teflon cannula in place
  • Insert at an angle (30 degrees)
  • Works with available automatic inserter
  • Can be used by almost anyone, including people with very little body fat
  • Disconnects at the insertion site (disconnect clip is on the part that stays on the body)
  • 17mm (regular) or 12mm (short) cannula lengths
  • 23" and 43" tubing

Advantages

  • Can use mechanical insertion device
  • Disconnect at the point of insertion
  • Plastic guides prevent incorrect mating of tubing to infusion set
  • Largest tape backing of any of the angled insertion infusion sets
  • 100% water resistant shield across the entire tape surface

Disadvantages

  • Manual insertion of angled sets can be challenging to learn
  • Long introducer needle can be intimidating, especially to younger kids (12mm short needle may be helpful)
  • Numbing cream highly recommended for kids
