Apple pie like your grandmother used to make.
Ingredients
Pastry for 9 inch two-crust pie
2 Tablespoons Equal® Measure or 20 packets of Equal®
1/4 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
dash salt
6 cups thinly sliced pared tart apples (4 to 6 Granny Smiths)
1 Tablespoon margarineDirections
Preheat oven to 425° F. In a mixing bowl combine Equal® Measure, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt. Add dry mixture to apples; toss gently to coat fruit. Fill a pastry-line 9-inch pie plate with apple mixture; dot with margarine. Cover with top crust that has slits cut in it; seal and flute edge. Bake 15 minutes at 425°F; turn oven down to 350°F and bake an additional 30 minutes.
