The Ellis Family, Bethel, Connecticut
Tuesday, September 4 through Monday September 10
We here at the Ellis house enjoyed Ruby's visit with us. We stopped home late Tuesday afternoon before our errands to find her waiting on our front porch for us. We did not have big plans for Ruby, but she got to go to work with "Mom" and even was allowed in school for a special day. At work she helped Mom share news of the upcoming JDRF walk with co-workers. Her visit at the beginning of school was very good timing as she was there when Casey talked to her 1st grade class about diabetes. I warned the teacher to review this with Casey ahead of time, as sometimes she goes into even more detail than some adults have the attention span for! As for the weekend, she hung out with us and didn't seem to mind just relaxing.
We hope that she has safe journeys as she travels from family to family.
Take care and good sugars to all!
Sue, Evan and Casey
