The Beauregard Family, Otsego, Michigan

August 4, 2003

On August 4, our family is packed and ready to vacation in Ohio. We are meeting family for a day at Cedar Point and the Toledo Zoo. As the family loads the car, the mailman arrives. She has a special delivery for Hannah. Inside the box was Ruby #4! Perfect timing!

After we loaded the car, you could hear Hannah introducing Ruby to Rufus (her own bear). The next two days will be fun for everyone… but today, we drive. We have a five hour drive from Plainwell to Sandusky.

It has been a long wait for Ruby's visit. But… the smiles, hugs, and memories will be here forever. Thanks for the visit!

August 18, 2003

The last couple weeks have been fun. It was interesting to read about Ruby's travels and the friends she has made. Ruby had a great time at Cedar Point and the Toledo Zoo. She enjoyed a family bike ride. We rode 7.5 miles.

Rufus has made a terrific impact on Hannah. And, Ruby has added to the support with her stories and visit.

Ruby arrives just in time for our vacation to Ohio!		Joe Cool meets Ryan, Rufus, Hannah, and Ruby at the main gate of Cedar Point.		Hannah is taking Mom, Evan, Ruby, and Rufus for a ride in the Antique Cars.
Hannah and the bears play Hide-and-Go-Seek. "Charlie, have you seen my friends?" "I can’t find them."		Hannah holds Rufus and Ruby on the Frog Hopper. The attendant was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.		Hope (the hippo) takes time for pictures as we enter the Toledo Zoo.
The kids (and bears) enjoy watching the Harbor Seals swim.		This merry-go-round is at the Toledo Zoo. All of the animals are from Africa. The attendant was happy to meet the bears. He has type 1 diabetes too.		As Ruby’s visit comes to an end, Hannah gives her a Camp Snoopy pin. The pin is a symbol of our friendship.
