The Keyworth Family, Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada

April 15, 2003 Ruby arrived in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Canada to much fanfare and excitement. She was welcomed by Kristen (7, diagnosed 4/25/00), Kyle (4), Kathy (mom), Kent (dad), and Oreo (dog). Ruby spent the first night sleeping with her 'twin sister' Ruby - the one that Kristen already has. Kristen was diagnosed when she was 4, a complete surprise for the whole family because we didn't know of any family history (turned out to be a great great grandmother). Kristen has been tremendous - she's been testing her own blood sugar from day one! Wasn't too fond of injections in the beginning (who can blame her?), but we bought InjectEase and that really helped. She now gives herself her own injections with a Humapen when she needs it - Wow! Thanks, Ruby, for spending time with us. Have fun at your next destination! The Keyworth's
