The Taylor Family, Lodi, Wisconsin
March 17, 2003
Ruby arrived in Lodi, Wisconsin. Welcoming her to Lodi was April (diagnosed October 2001, age 10), Samantha, Bucky, Rachel, Brian and Cindy Taylor (dad and mom).
On Thursday, she went to school with April for a readathon. What fun was that telling classmates about Ruby! April was diagnosed when she was 10. Very scary. Her grandfather has had diabetes for over 20 years. She has done her own testing and injections since coming home from the hospital. Her doctor always gives her a thumbs up when she goes in there for doing a very good job on recording all her testing in her book and on her meter.
Thanks, Ruby, for spending two weeks in cold and rainy Wisconsin in March! We enjoyed your company and knowing that you will be loved and taken care of by other families makes it easier sending you on your way.
