The Campbell Family, Paulshof, South Africa

Hi. I am Tim, short for Timothy Campbell. I am three and a bit years old and as Jenni said, I was diagnosed at 11 1/2 months. I have a sister, Bronwyn, who is 20 months and my mom checks her levels often if she drinks or wees too much. Rufus was at my house when I came home from school. I had seen him the other day when I visited Panayioti. Rufus ate dinner with my sister and me, and he had numerous injections in his legs. Mom took photos, and we all went to bed. Rufus even slept with me-the first bear ever to have that privilege.

Tim brought Rufus back to Jennis' house for the monthly Diabetes Support Group tea. Jenni hosts the 6 year olds and under and then there is another group for the older kids run by Jane Stephenson. Today there were quite a few people who could not make it but there were 4 kids, Panayioti, Tim, Doron and Danya, who had a great time together while the moms chatted. Jen, our educator, also took time out of her very busy schedule to pop in and say hi.
Rufus and Ruby, the bears with diabetes, is the creation of Carol Cramer, who owns the copyright to Rufus and Ruby. The graphics of Rufus are from Rufus Come Home, written by Kim Gosselin and illustrated by Terry Ravenelli, and are used by permission of the author.
