The Hogel Family, Germany

Rufus 12 arrived! He was a bit tired because of the journey. As soon as I opened the packet, Rufus 12 has been hugged by all of the family. I showed him my room and our house. Rufus looked around, very interested. Well, an hour later he was more interested in our lunch (like me). I showed Rufus a newspaper article of his brother Rufus, who had already become famous!
January 8, 2003 Now Rufus knows all members of my family. We can play a lot together. Rufus and my bear-family had a nice party. I like vacations; I had much time to show Rufus my meter. He likes it, too. It has got 17 strips in it and you haven't got to calibrate it. It looks like a cell phone and sounds like a camera.
January 12, 2003 Sunday! Unfortunately it's the last day of school vacation. But my brother and I had a lot of fun. This morning we had to do babysitting for our little brother. No hard work because the two Rufus bears were helping us. January 14, 2003 Snow! Since a few days, it's very cold outside. Today we've got snow. Well guys, homework will be done later. The children are going to toboggan some little hills. After having so much fun outside, Bernd, Rufus 12, and Rufus were a little low! They drank apple juice and quickly had a good dinner. Rufus likes German food. He is a nice guest.

This afternoon, I took Rufus 12 with me to the radio station children's choir. He liked the songs. We started working on songs from Brahms. My sister is in this choir, too. We are about 60 children aged 10-19.

Today, both Rufus bears became a little jealous because I was chatting some hours with my email friend in New Jersey!

Rufus 12 has to leave us. That's sad. A short visit! We hope Rufus liked his stay with us. Sorry he couldn't stay longer. We'd like to show him Bernd's doctor and our diabetes team where Bernd is going every 8 weeks. We'd like to have a carnival party with him. Bernd would have like to take him with him to the hockey night tournament. We'd like to.
Many hugs, little Rufus, we hope you'll meet a lot of new friends. Have a nice journey! Greetings to all people you are going to meet. And to Ruby, of course. Thanks to Laura for this nice idea to make Rufus travel.
