Rufus arrived at noon today, right before we had to go to work. We were so excited, we unpacked Rufus and checked his blood sugar. He was a little low (must have been the heat), treated with a little juice, and boy was he thirsty! We unpacked his box and checked out all his goodies.
Our Rufus kept him busy while we were at work. Monday evening, we read through Rufus' journal out loud. He liked hearing about all his friends and we enjoyed hearing about his travels almost as much as he did.

Rufus helped us pack this morning for our trip to Orlando for the CWD conference. It was hard work, so everyone got a snack and a dip in the pool before work this afternoon. Tuesday evening, we all went shopping for the things we needed to finish packing, and for groceries for our trip. Everyone got a snack before bed, as Rufus and Adam were low… too much swimming I guess!

Packed groceries and all our last minute stuff and packed backpacks with things to do in the car. It was too cold to swim today so we watched a movie before work. Everyone went to bed early tonight to get some extra sleep. Have to start out very early Friday morning, so we'll need the rest.

Everyone is so excited - we leave tomorrow. Yeah! Our first CWD conference and Disney. The only thing that could make us happier would be a cure! Everything is packed up and ready to go. Took the dogs (Buster and Wags) to the vet to be boarded before work. Took our rabbit "Spots" to my sister's house so she could watch him while we're gone. It was hard for everyone to fall asleep tonight with our trip starting in the morning!
July 4, 2003 Happy 4th of July!
Road Trip! Started on our trip early, hope to make it past Atlanta, Georgia, today.
Friday p.m. - Made it past Atlanta - no fireworks to see anywhere. The kids and Rufus were a little disappointed.
July 5, 2003
We'll be in Florida Today. Stopped in Daytona Beach to play in the Atlantic Ocean. It was a first for all of us.
Saturday p.m. - We've arrived; rest and early to bed tonight!
July 6, 2003
Up bright and early and off to church. After church, we went to Silver springs, rode the glass bottom boats, and had a great time. In the afternoon, we went swimming and planned our day for Monday.
July 7, 2003
Off to Universal Studios. Rode lots of rides and had a great time.
July 8, 2003
Sea World today. What a cool place. Especially liked the dolphin show. Checked into the Coronado resort this afternoon.
July 9, 2003
MGM Studios today. Even with all the food they're eating, Adam and Rufus are still going low! Weds afternoon - Time to register for the conference. Two Ruby bears joined the family tonight at registration. Welcome reception tonight. Climbed the rock wall, met Glucowatch Man, and talked to some really wonderful people!
July 10, 2003
Adam went to a few sessions today - he liked the martial arts demo the best. Rachel got to meet Zippora. Adam, Rachel, and Rufus went swimming with Dad after snack. It was Dad's birthday and his choice of what to do.
Thursday evening was the Family and Friends Banquet. Great food, great people, and wonderful entertainment. Rachel and Rufus danced to Hamish and Brother, then we all got to meet Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto. What a great day!
July 11, 2003
Build didges with Hamish and Brother; boy were they a mess, but they had a great time! Rufus enjoyed hearing them try to play the didgeridoos!
Friday evening we went out to dinner for Dad's birthday with his sister and her family, then back to the Coronado and bed. We have an early day tomorrow!

Up early for the character breakfast and then off to the Magic Kingdom. The perfect end to a perfect trip. Road trip home tomorrow morning. We're all sad to be leaving, but it will be nice to get home and sleep in our own beds.
We'll really be sorry to see Rufus leave. Adam and Rachel have enjoyed having him visit. He's so sweet. Good luck, Rufus, and have fun.
