Rufus arrived about 10 days ago in Vancouver for a visit. Raymond is 14 and has had diabetes for 7 years now. Ray read the journal and really enjoyed it. Rufus went downhill skiing a couple of times with us. Doing the black (hardest) runs made him a little nervous, so he wound up coming down a couple of easier ones with "mom." Being a teen, Raymond was a little embarrassed at first with Rufus, but got into it more when I explainded about all the kids with diabetes he had visited. Ray also loves playing rugby as well as kayaking, and is enjoying high school to no end.

Oops, Rufus is still with us. He had an unexpected visit to Vancouver Island to do a little skiing at Mt. Washington over spring break. Some spring!! We were skiing in minus 10 degrees and passed on skiing at minus 14 the next day and left a blizzard on the mountain to return home a day early. We are now back at work and school and will hopefully mail Rufus tomorrow on his next visit.
