Yay! Rufus arrived today! Emma spent the afternoon getting to know Rufus. The first thing she did after showing Rufus her pump, was put a site on Rufus because he wanted to try it, too! Rufus had his own place at the dinner table-enjoying some yummy salmon and salad! He got settled in for the evening in Emma's room with his old friend Ruby.

Today after school, Emma took Rufus down the hill to her horseback riding teacher's barn. Rufus sat in a saddle (not on top of a horse!). Rufus watched as the four horses went out to pasture.

This morning, Rufus watched Emma's soccer game. It was a very exciting game. And, it was very hot out too! Rufus thought the game was pretty cool. Emma went to a beach party in the afternoon. By then, the fog had rolled in, so it was chilly and too cold for Rufus. He waited in the car with Magic, Emma's special horse.

First day of autumn! Rufus and Magic browsed in the bookstore and then went out to lunch. At 3:00 p.m., everyone went to see the movie "Rivers and Tides."

Rufus was treated to watching Emma at her violin lesson. He enjoyed her music!

A big day for Rufus! He went to school with Emma and met her classmates. Emma is in the 4th grade. Emma talked about Rufus, his travels; and showed the kids his backpack and all his wonderful souvenirs. The kids had a lot of questions! Emma talked about her site changes, her pump, and demonstrated a site change on Rufus. What a trooper! The kids were very curious about the Glucowatch, and the upcoming trial Emma will be participating in. They want to see the watch in person! Everyone wanted Rufus to have something from the school, so they gave him a pen to put in his backpack.

Emma had a day off from school today, so she and her Mom, and Rufus and Magic went to their favorite breakfast spot: The Silver Spur. Yum, yum! Rufus had fun playing at home with Emma today.

Rufus got to attend another soccer game. He enjoyed watching Emma play goalie. Today was Emma's first rehearsal for the Nutcracker Ballet. Rufus would sure like to try dancing ballet too!

After a lovely, relaxing morning and early afternoon, Emma and her family and Rufus attended an informal, fun, violin recital. It was at Emma's teacher's home. Rufus sure liked hearing all the fabulous music!

Today we bought Rufus a keychain to add to his collection. And after school, Emma took a practice bicycle ride in preparation for bike-to-school day tomorrow. Rufus watched!

It's time to pack up Rufus and send him along on his next journey. We wish him well; he is making so many new friends! We are sure sad to see him go, but grateful for his visit and his comforting presence. Goodbye Rufus! We will miss you!
