The Lapa Family, Dracot, Massachusetts February 26, 2004 Rufus came to visit me a week ago. I was really excited. I brought him to my doctor's office and he and I were quite the stars. I love his pump! I just got a pump three weeks ago. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on March 22, 2003. No one else in our family has type 1 diabetes. I live with my mom, dad, and sister, Cherie, who is 10 years old. I am 4 3/4 years old. We live in Dracut, Massachusetts. Rufus has enjoyed cold weather, but no snow. Having diabetes was a huge adjustment for me and my family. We are excited about current research and a possible CURE! We are Christians and pray that God will send a cure each day. Until then, I wear my pump and test often. Jonathon Lapa Age 4 3/4
