Welcome, Rufus! We have been so anxious to meet you. Our family enjoys stuffed animals and it will be a pleasure to show you around!
Justin (age 15) was diagnosed on October 1, 2001 at the age of 13. The night of your arrival, Krissy took you for a ride on her "Furbus" to pick Justin up at work. Justin was thrilled to meet you!

Well Rufus, when I went to work today, I got an email from Laura saying we must now pass you on. We do so with much regret - you've become a member of our family. We are glad to have shared such special moments with you - like the day you got your new outfit from Build a Bear. The temperature was an unhappy 13 below zero! Windchills were minus 30-40. Schools were closed and everything! You only had on a pair of overalls - no shirt! So off to the store we went. You can keep your new clothes in case you go someplace cold again.
Glad you could share in Justin's 15th birthday celebrations on 2/24. So fun! Blood sugars for both of you were in line even after birthday cake! Good job!
We will miss you, Rufus. Continue in your happy travels, spreading the word about type 1 diabetes. Hopefully when there is a cure, all of the Rufus and Ruby bears will be acknowledged for their tremendous hard work.
