The Chrisman Family, Newburgh, Indiana
March 27, 2002
Rufus arrived at the Chrisman house in Newburgh, Indiana. We were all excited for his visit. While here, he'll visit Mark (Dad), Stacie (Mom), Andrew (age 11), Jacob (age 6, diagnosed 1/4/01 at age 5), and Sarah Kate (age 5).

Rufus arrived during Spring Break and just in time to travel to St. Louis for a few days. We headed out in the afternoon and toured Edwardsville, Illinois first. We lived in Edwardsville for three years in the 1990's and we toured our old neighborhood and saw old sites. After dinner, we headed across the mighty Mississippi into St. Louis and stopped to see Big Foot, the original monster truck. Then, on to our hotel and fun in the pool!

Rufus traveled with us to downtown St. Louis to see the Arch, tour Union Station, and have fun at the City Museum. We had dinner at Ozzie Smith's restaurant and then more fun at the pool.

For out last day in St. Louis, we're headed to the zoo. It's a beautiful day and all of the animals are out. After a fun day, we're headed back to Newburgh!
Easter Sunday, March 31, 2002
Rufus spent Easter playing in the backyard. We had friends over for dinner and he helped with the Easter Egg hunts. Rufus was impressed the Easter bunny found so many low-carb items for the basket! Jacob found a USA Bear pin that he received at school and added it to Rufus' shirt.
God Bless America!

No April Fool's jokes for Rufus. We're thrilled he's here. Rufus is attending kindergarten today with Jacob. Mrs. Rust is going to read the Rufus story to the class and Jacob is going to introduce everyone to Rufus. Unfortunately, Mrs. Rust won't allow Jacob to answer any questions. Oh well. At least the class has heard the word, diabetes.

Jacob went low at school and told his teacher! It's the first time this year that he's told her. He said since Rufus visited and everyone knows, he's not embarrassed to tell Mrs. Rust! We're reading the story during the first week of first grade!

Rufus is going to hang out at home until we get word of the next family. We're so glad he's here!
