The Slack Family, Medway, Massachusetts

Rufus arrived at our home this afternoon, here in Medway, Massachusetts, just as our son Sean (7 years old, dx'd 17 mo.s) was on his way to his quarterly endocrinologist appointment. Rufus kept him company for the trip and Sean was thrilled for his own Rufus to meet a new buddy!

[Sean wrote: "I read to him. I slept with him." And he drew a picture of Rufus getting his finger pricked and saying "ouch," but with a big smile on his face!]

Sean spent lots of time playing with Rufus. He took him to school for show and tell. Rufus met Sean's teacher, his fellow classmates, and the school nurse. Sean will miss Rufus, as will the rest of his family.
