Back to Rufus Rufus Visits the McDonald Family

The McDonald Family, Woodward, Oklahoma

May 13, 2002
Well, Rufus just arrived to our house in Woodward, Oklahoma. Haylee was so excited to see him. Ruby was so happy to see him, too. Well, Haylee and Rufus went ouside to play and they fed the fish. Rufus decided to take a swim in the pond. After his swim, we came inside so he could get cleaned up. After dinner, they played together in Haylee's room. Then it was snack time before bed. Well, I tucked both of them in and said goodnight.

Well, I woke Haylle and Rufus up. It was time to check Haylee's sugar and to show her that Rufus takes shots, too. They had oatmeal for breakfast and now it is time to go to Grandma's house. Haylee and Rufus will spend th eafternoon until mommy (Jaime) gets home at 2:00 from work!

Haylee and Rufus are outside jumping on the trampoline with Daddy (Mark). It is now time to come in and eat! Bath time and night time! See you in the morning!

Good morning. Haylee and Rufus are getting up. It is time to eat breakfast! Today they played outside and jumped on the trampoline. We also fed the fish.

Time for dinner. After dinner, they took a bath. Well, Rufus watched and they laid down and watched the Tigger movie. Both of them fell asleep!

Sorry for not writing, but we have had a busy week! Today is Haylee's 2nd birthday! Yeah! We are all going to the Walleye Rodeo! It is a place for families and friends. This is not your normal rodeo - it is a fishing rodeo. Well, Rufus and Haylee ran around and played with the other kids. Then everyone got into a water fight. Boy that was fun! They had a blast.

Well, it is Sunday and we will spend the day in the back yard, planting, gardening, and playing! We picked weeds and mowed. We smelled the roses; they are gorgeous. Well, we went for a car ride taking Aunt Lisa back home. Haylee's gradma had to have surgery. So we have been really busy. Rufus has had a fun time while he has been here.

We went to Grandma's house to make sure she was doing better. Brenda came over to help grandma with Rufus and Haylee for this week while Mommy goes to work. We are home now and we are outside playing with Mikey the dog! Haylee is holding on tight to Rufus while trying to run away from Mikey. They have had a great day!

We went to Walmart to get some of Haylee's birthday presents. Rufus helped pick out a playhut! It is a house with tons of balls to jump around in. I picked out a playing grocery basket with play food for her to play with. She loves to go shopping for groceries in my kitchen, putting them in a bag. Rufus was happy to see her playing. They played with her new toys for awhile! Time to eat dinner. Well, after Haylee's bath, they laid down and watched A Bug's Life. They fell asleep about 9:30.

I talked to a lady at the Woodward News and they will be putting an article in the paper about Rufus and Haylee. It will tell how Rufus goes to special families with young children trying to cope and learn about diabetes. They will also talk about the walk that we will be doing on June 8 in Oklahoma City.
