Organizations that Provide Diabetes Alert Dogs

In the past several years, some families have reported that their dog has been able to sense an impending low blood sugar in a child and alter the family in time to help. The following organizations train diabetes alert dogs. Several CWD families have diabetes alert dogs, and they offer very positive comments on their experiences.

However, training a dog for any purpose like this is expensive and there is as yet no scientific evidence to support the use of dogs to detect hypoglycemia.
