Support Groups in California
- POD Squad (Parents of Diabetics)
We're based in Pleasanton, in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay Area. We meet the third Wednesday of each month during the school year only. Speakers are at each meeting. For more information, including location and contacts, see www.podsquad.com.
- Yuba-Sutter Children with Type 1 Diabetes Support Group
This support group if for children and teens of all ages who are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, as well as their extended families. As we feel it affects the entire family. We meet monthly at The Fremont Rideout Conference Center the 3rd Friday of the month from 7-8:30 pm located at 989 Plumas St. Yuba City, Ca. 95993. We also just opened (2010) a Diabetes Resource Center for people who live with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Our websites are www.yscdsg.org and bikearoundthebuttes.com. We have recipes,diabetes presentations for public schools, attend health fairs, blood glucose meters, spanish material, public computer for blood glucose downloads, carb counting books, Wisdom Kits and Bags of Hope (From the ADA & JDRF) and so much more!
