Hi. My name is Ellen and I'm the mother of a child with diabetes. I was one of the very first people to log on to the Children with Diabetes Web site and it has been transformational.

From the moment I discovered the web site, I never again felt alone as a parent raising a child with diabetes. Many have expressed the same sentiment.

I've made lifelong connections with people from around the world through the CWD chat.

Jeff Hitchcock and his entire family set out to make life better for their daughter Marissa and ultimately, made life better for thousands upon thousands of people worldwide. Thanks to their efforts, we have access to trustworthy, evidence- based knowledge at our fingertips.

The conferences are extraordinary. There is nothing more precious than seeing the joy and exuberance in the family's faces and hearing their laughter when enjoying life so much with diabetes.

The community bond that is established is palpable. Race, religion, politics matter not at all. What matters is raising healthy loved ones with diabetes and that is what unifies us.
