Of Continuing Interest

  1. Make plans to come to the Friends for Life: Orlando 2007 annual conference at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida from July 11 - 15, 2007. The Parent and Adult Program and Youth Program are now online. Kids arriving early can join in Chris Dudley's Basketball Clinic on Tuesday, July 10th. Registration for the basketball clinic is limited to 60 participants, and you must be registered for the Friends for Life conference before you can register for the basketball clinic. Families are encouraged to sign up for focus groups as soon as possible, as slots fill up very quickly.
  2. Make plans to attend our first Canadian conference -- Focus on Pumping: Toronto 2007 from August 17-19, 2007 at the Marriott Toronto Downtown Eaton Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Special guests include country music star George Canyon, Sebastien Sasseville, the first Canadian with diabetes to successfully climb Peak Lenin, and Jen Alexander, an extraordinary swimmer.
  3. Preliminary information about our Focus on Best Practices: Marco Island 2008 conference is now online, including registration forms.

  1. The room block for CWD's Friends for Life 2007 annual conference at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida is over 90% full. If you're planning on coming, now is the time to register and reserve your hotel room.
  2. Monday, April 30th is the last day of early registration for CWD's Focus on Pumping: Toronto 2007 from August 17-19, 2007 at the Marriott Toronto Downtown Eaton Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
  3. The Family Support Network has over 3,090 families from all 50 states and 70 countries. If you're new to diabetes, looking for a baby sitter for your child, want to babysit others, or need a college parent, the Family Support Network can help you connect with families near you. If you haven't joined, please become part of the Family Support Network. Now's also a great time to search for someone near you and introduce yourself.

I told her, "A diabetes check up." I had to check my sugar just then and she asked what I was doing. I told her I was also diabetic. Her reply was, "It runs in the Family?"
  59. You know you're the parent of a child with diabetes when your 4 year old NON-diabetic child comes in at night and says, "My blood sugar was 65 and I need to eat something" and uses that as an excuse to stay up late! See more parent humor.
